Once completely dry, apply a high-quality, penetrating concrete sealer. This hydrophobic barrier is crucial as it repels water and moisture, preventing it from entering the concrete's matrix. For added defense, use a waterproof, breathable cover specifically designed for outdoor furniture. Ensure it's securely anchored to prevent wind damage but allows for some air circulation to mitigate condensation. Avoid plastic tarps that trap moisture. Elevate the bench slightly with bricks or pads if it sits directly on soil or a damp surface to improve drainage. If possible, moving the bench to a sheltered location like a garage or shed offers the best protection.
