Common Problems and Effective Solutions for urban benches

Can the benches be bolted to a concrete base easily?

Yes, bolting a bench to a concrete base can be a straightforward DIY project with the right tools and preparation. The key to an easy and secure installation lies in using the correct hardware—typically concrete expansion anchors or sleeve anchors—and following a clear process.

First, position your bench exactly where you want it on the concrete slab. Mark the drilling points through the bench's pre-drilled mounting holes. Using a hammer drill fitted with a masonry bit sized for your specific anchors, drill holes into the concrete at the marked spots. Be sure to blow or vacuum out all concrete dust from the holes for optimal anchor grip.

Next, insert the anchors into the holes. Align the bench legs over the anchors, then place the provided washer and nut. Finally, tighten the nuts with a wrench. As you tighten, the anchor expands inside the concrete, creating a incredibly strong, permanent hold that prevents tipping or theft.

For the easiest experience, ensure you have a helper to hold the bench steady, and always double-check your measurements before drilling. With proper anchors and about an hour of work, you can have a bench firmly and safely bolted down for years of stable use.
