Shipping benches safely requires careful preparation to prevent scratches, dents, or breaks during transit. Here's a professional approach we use. First, we thoroughly clean and dry the bench. All removable parts like legs or cushions are detached and wrapped separately. We start protection with soft materials—using moving blankets or thick bubble wrap to cover the entire surface, paying extra attention to corners and edges which are most vulnerable. For wooden benches, we add cardboard corner protectors for impact resistance.
Next, we construct a rigid barrier. The wrapped bench is placed on a corrugated cardboard sheet and fully enveloped. We use strong packing tape to secure all seams, creating a weather-resistant layer. For long-distance or international shipping, we build a custom wooden crate. The packaged bench is suspended inside the crate using foam blocks or straps to prevent contact with the crate walls, absorbing vibration and shock.
Finally, we clearly label the package with "Fragile," "This Side Up," and "Keep Dry" on all sides. A detailed packing list inside the outer layer helps with handling. This multi-layer method—soft wrapping, rigid cardboard, and optional wooden crate—ensures your bench arrives in perfect condition, ready for immediate use.
