Great question! The short answer is: most of our benches do not come fully pre-assembled, but they are designed to be incredibly easy to put together. We ship them in a flat-pack box to keep shipping costs low and to reduce the risk of damage in transit. However, I want to be upfront so you know exactly what you are getting.
For our standard outdoor benches (like the classic wooden slat or metal frame styles), you will need to attach the legs to the seat. This usually takes one person about 15 to 30 minutes. The hardware is included, and we provide clear, picture-based instructions. You will only need a basic screwdriver or an Allen wrench (which we also include). No power tools are required.
There are a couple of important exceptions. Our heavy-duty commercial-grade benches and certain custom designs do come pre-assembled. If you order one of those, it will arrive on a pallet, fully built, and ready to place directly in your garden or patio. You can easily identify these models – they are listed as “fully assembled” in the product title.
I always recommend checking the specific product page for each bench. Look for a small icon or a line in the description that says “Assembly Required: Yes/No.” If you are still unsure, just drop us a message before you order, and I will check the exact item for you.
