Also think about social dynamics. Benches near popular trailheads, water fountains, or play areas may need higher density—every 100–150 meters—because these zones attract heavier foot traffic and longer stays. Less popular, remote sections can handle wider spacing of up to 800 meters.
A practical rule of thumb: conduct a simple “user test.” Walk or cycle the proposed path yourself, noting where you naturally feel like stopping.
