Great question! If you’re looking for a dual-sided outdoor bench that lets people sit facing either direction at the same time, you’re in the right place. We actually do make those – and they’re one of our more popular custom designs for parks, public gardens, and even large private patios.
What we offer:
Our reversible benches are built with a central backrest that runs down the middle, allowing two people (or more, depending on length) to sit back-to-back, facing opposite sides. This is ideal for pathways, waiting areas, or anywhere you want to maximize views without crowding. The design typically uses a slatted wood or recycled plastic seat and back system, mounted on a heavy-duty powder-coated steel frame.
Durability and style:
We use weather-resistant materials like kiln-dried cedar, acacia, or HDPE (high-density polyethylene, made from recycled milk jugs). The frame is galvanized and coated to resist rust, and the slats allow water to drain through – so the bench stays clean and dries quickly after rain.
Custom options:
You can choose between a straight bench (for linear spaces) or a curved version (great for creating a gathering spot). We also offer armrests, different wood stains, and even integrated LED lighting for evening use. Most benches are available in 4-foot, 6-foot, and 8-foot lengths.
Assembly and shipping:
We pre-drill and pre-cut all parts, so assembly is straightforward – typically two people can put it together in about 45 minutes. We ship flat-packed in a sturdy box, and we ship to most countries. If you need a custom size or color, just let us know – we can usually turn it around in 2–3 weeks.
Is it really comfortable for two people facing opposite ways?
Yes – the middle backrest is angled slightly to provide good lumbar support for both sides. Each seating area is about 18 inches deep, which is standard for comfortable outdoor seating. I’ve personally tested one in my own backyard, and it’s a hit when friends come over – some just want to read facing the garden, while others face the patio and talk.
