Yes, absolutely! We understand that when you’re investing in outdoor furniture, you want to be sure the materials can stand up to weather, wear, and time. That’s why we’re happy to provide small sample pieces of both the steel and the wood used in our outdoor benches.
For steel samples, we can typically send a pre-cut piece of our powder-coated galvanized steel. This sample will show you the thickness (usually 14-gauge), the finish quality, and how the coating resists scratching and rust. You can test it by exposing it to moisture, salt spray, or even a scratch test with a coin. Just keep in mind that the sample is untreated on the cut edges, which might show raw metal—this is normal and doesn’t affect the full product’s edge sealing.
For wood samples, we offer a small square of the actual hardwood (like Ipe, Teak, or Cedar) we use. These samples will display the natural grain, color, and any applied sealant. You can leave it outside in your local climate for a few weeks, pour water on it to see how it beads or absorbs, or even try sanding a corner to see the wood’s density. Most of our wood is kiln-dried and treated for rot and insect resistance, so you should notice minimal warping or cracking.
To request a sample, just reach out to our support team via chat or email with your name and shipping address. There’s usually a small fee for shipping (around $5-$10, depending on your location), which is refundable if you place an order for a full bench within 30 days. We also recommend specifying which bench model you’re considering, so you get the exact material match.
One tip: For a truly reliable durability test, mimic the conditions of your outdoor space. If you’re near a coast, test salt spray; if you’re in a rainy area, test water pooling. Our samples are cut from the same production batch as our benches, so you can trust the results. We’re confident you’ll be impressed—but if not, our team is here to answer any follow-up questions.
