Yes, you can absolutely anchor a park bench directly into concrete. In fact, this is one of the most common and secure methods for installing a bench in public parks, gardens, or commercial spaces. The key is to use the right type of concrete anchors—typically wedge anchors or sleeve anchors—and to drill accurate pilot holes into the cured concrete before setting the bench in place.
We do not sell separate mounting kits as standalone products, but every bench we offer comes with the necessary mounting hardware, including bolts, washers, and nuts designed to work with our specific bench frame. The hardware is intended for direct concrete anchoring, so you generally won’t need to buy anything extra.
Here’s a simple step-by-step for anchoring into concrete:
1. Position the bench where you want it and mark the holes through its base.
2. Use a hammer drill with a masonry bit (matching the anchor size) to drill holes about 1/2 inch deeper than the anchor length.
3. Clean out the dust from the holes using compressed air or a brush.
4. Insert the expansion anchors into the holes.
5. Place the bench over the anchors and tighten the nuts securely.
If your concrete surface is uneven or old, you may want to use a leveling shim. Also, be sure to check your local regulations—some public areas require specific anchor depths or tamper-proof fasteners. For general use, direct concrete anchoring with our included hardware is perfectly safe and effective. Just make sure the concrete has fully cured (typically 28 days) before installation.
