Great question—and one we get asked all the time. The short answer is: it depends entirely on the specific bench model you choose. We offer two primary categories to fit different needs.
Fully Assembled Park Benches
For those who want a "set it and forget it" experience, many of our heavy-duty commercial-grade benches arrive fully assembled. They come strapped to a pallet, ready to be lifted off and placed directly in your park, garden, or walkway. You won’t need tools, instructions, or any extra time. Popular models in this category include our cast iron and recycled plastic slat benches, which are built to withstand the elements right out of the crate.
Benches That Require Assembly
On the other hand, we have benches designed to be more compact during shipping to keep costs lower. These models—usually lightweight steel or wooden benches—ship in two or three parts. Assembly is intentionally simple: typically you’ll just attach the seat slats to the frame using the included hardware. We provide clear instructions and a basic allen wrench (or bolts), so you can usually have it together in about 20–30 minutes with one person. No special expertise needed.
Which One Should You Choose?
If you're outfitting a public space and need benches installed today, go with the pre-assembled option. If you have a few minutes to spare and want to save on shipping, the assembly-required models are a fantastic, budget-friendly choice.
