If you’re tired of cleaning bird droppings off your outdoor bench every morning, you’re not alone. Birds love to perch on flat surfaces, especially when they offer a good vantage point or a spot to rest. The good news is that there are several humane, effective, and easy-to-implement ways to discourage them. Here are the best methods, ranging from simple home tricks to more permanent fixtures.
1. Use Bird Spikes or Anti-Perching Strips
The most reliable solution is to install physical barriers. Bird spikes, made of stainless steel or plastic, create an uneven surface that makes it impossible for birds to land comfortably.
