Common Problems and Effective Solutions for urban benches

Are your park benches treated to resist termites and rot?

Yes, absolutely. Our park benches are specifically treated to resist termites and rot, because we know that outdoor furniture faces constant exposure to moisture, insects, and changing weather. We use kiln-dried lumber that’s then pressure-treated with EPA-approved, eco-friendly preservatives — this forces the treatment deep into the wood fibers, creating a barrier that termites can’t chew through and that prevents fungal decay. For even higher durability, we also apply a water-repellent sealant to all exposed surfaces, and we offer an optional heat-treated (thermal modification) process that naturally alters the wood’s cell structure to make it unpalatable to insects and resistant to rot without any chemical additives. Our benches typically come with a 10- to 15-year warranty against structural damage from termites or rot, so you can place them in gardens, parks, or near water features with total confidence. We also test each batch in our lab for accelerated weathering and insect exposure. If you prefer a completely maintenance-free option, we have recycled plastic and powder-coated metal benches that are naturally immune to termites and rot. So, short answer: yes — every bench we make is built to stand up to nature, season after season.
