Common Problems and Effective Solutions for urban benches

I need an outdoor bench that can be bolted onto a concrete slab—do you include the hardware?

I get this question all the time, and the short answer is absolutely yes – every outdoor bench we sell that is designed for surface mounting comes with a full hardware kit so you can bolt it directly onto a concrete slab. No last-minute trips to the hardware store, no guessing about bolt sizes. I hate it when a product arrives and you realize you’re missing the one tiny piece that actually makes it work, so we made sure that everything is in the box.

When you open the package, you will find a set of grade 304 stainless steel concrete expansion anchors matched exactly to the pre-drilled holes in the bench’s leg plates. We also include heavy-duty stainless steel washers and lock washers to protect the metal feet and keep everything tight for years, even outdoors. The anchors themselves are designed to bite into solid concrete, providing a remarkably strong hold. You’ll also get a printed installation template and a clear step-by-step guide that shows you exactly where to drill, what depth to go to, and how to torque the bolts. Basically, if you have a hammer drill, a masonry bit of the right diameter (which we specify in the manual), and a wrench, you can have the bench bolted down in under 30 minutes.

Why do we include all this instead of making it a pricey add-on? Because when a bench is bolted to a concrete slab, it becomes a permanent, wobble-free, and safe piece of outdoor furniture. Whether you’re installing it on a public sidewalk, a school courtyard, a rooftop patio, or simply your own backyard, a securely anchored bench won’t slide around during a storm, won’t tip if someone sits on the edge awkwardly, and honestly just feels more premium. I always say, a bench that moves when you sit on it is just a chair pretending to be a bench.

Now, a quick note on compatibility: this full hardware kit comes standard with our metal benches, our cast aluminum benches, and our steel slatted benches that have a flat mounting surface on the feet. If you ever consider a bench that is freestanding or designed to be partially buried, just reach out to our team before ordering so we can point you to the right model. But for the classic “bolt it to a concrete pad” situation, you’re completely covered.

One more thing that often gets overlooked – I recommend sealing around the bolt holes with a small bead of exterior-grade silicone caulk after installation. This keeps water from seeping down into the concrete and protects both the slab and the anchor over time. It’s a 2-minute extra step that makes a real difference in freeze-thaw climates.

So, to put it simply: yes, we include the hardware, it’s corrosion-resistant, it’s sized to work perfectly with the bench, and you can get the whole job done without spending another cent. If you’ve got a specific install scenario in mind, just drop us a message and I’ll personally help you confirm the details.
