The frame and seat are made from 3/16-inch powder-coated steel. There are no wooden slats to snap or burn, and no plastic panels that get scratched up. The seat surface has a slightly textured anti-graffiti coating, so spray paint and marker usually come off with a solvent wipe instead of a full repaint. The real reason this bench survives, though, is the hardware. Every bolt is tamper-resistant and recessed. We recommend the concrete anchor kit, which bolts the legs straight into a poured pad. If someone wants to rip it out, they’re going to need serious tools, time, and noise. It also has drainage channels so water doesn’t pool, and the edges are rolled rather than sharp — fewer places to pry, and safer for kids. If you want a bench that will take abuse in a skate park, transit stop, or trailhead, this is the one I’d order. It’s heavier to install, but you won’t be back out there fixing it every season.
