If you want warm wood, a folding eucalyptus or acacia bench is a good compromise; it’s lighter than teak or ipe and can be stowed when storms roll through. Backless or low-back benches are also smart on a rooftop because they catch less wind. Whatever you pick, add rubber feet or an outdoor rug underneath to protect the roof membrane, and check if your building requires furniture to be anchored. For most rooftops, I’d choose an aluminum park bench with a slatted seat and low back—it’s easy to move, easy to maintain, and still has that classic park feel.
