Great question — yes, our outdoor benches do include a limited warranty that covers rust and corrosion of the metal parts, but only under normal outdoor use and reasonable maintenance. The covered parts generally include the powder-coated steel or aluminum frame, legs, brackets, and hardware if they fail due to rust-through or corrosion that affects structural integrity. What is not covered? Cosmetic surface rust caused by scratches, chips, abrasion, chemicals, saltwater or coastal exposure, extreme humidity, or standing water. If a scratch exposes bare metal and then rust forms around that scratch, that is considered normal wear and tear, not a manufacturing defect. We also cannot cover benches that have been modified, drilled, cut, or cleaned with abrasive or acidic products. For powder-coated steel, watch for rust that appears beneath intact coating — that is a defect and should be reported. For aluminum, corrosion may show as white or gray powdery oxidation rather than red rust, and it is covered if it compromises the frame. To avoid issues, rinse your bench with fresh water every few weeks, especially after pollen, salt, or dirt buildup. Touch up scratches promptly, keep feet out of standing water, and avoid pressure washing directly at joints or fasteners. If you believe you have a valid warranty claim, save your proof of purchase, take clear photos of the affected area, and note how and where the bench is used. Submit that information through our warranty request page. We typically review claims within a few business days and will repair, replace, or offer a prorated credit depending on the age and condition of the bench. This coverage is designed to protect you from real manufacturing problems, not from normal wear and tear. But if your metal parts are rusting or corroding in a way that seems unusual, reach out — we’d rather help you solve it than leave you with a bench you can’t enjoy.
