Here’s what that means in practice. Any metal part that a person can touch is laser-cut, deburred, and finished with a rounded or chamfered edge. The seat and back slats — whether they’re wood, metal, or composite — are sanded or routed with a minimum radius so they don’t feel sharp when you run your hand across them. We also avoid exposed bolt heads and sharp fastener points by using recessed or flush hardware wherever possible. Corners on the frame, armrests, and end panels are rounded rather than left at 90 degrees.
That said, no piece of outdoor furniture can promise zero risk in every possible impact scenario. If someone falls onto a bench with enough force, the edge can still cause an injury. But the goal is to remove the kind of everyday sharp-edge hazards you actually worry about: a child brushing past an armrest, a runner catching a leg on a corner, or an older person gripping the seat edge to sit down.
We also do basic hand-feel checks on prototypes and production samples. The rule is simple: if an edge feels uncomfortable when you press or slide your palm across it, it gets reworked before it ships.
