Great question, and it’s one we hear often from landscape architects and park managers. On our commercial and public park bench models, anti-theft bolts are standard. We use tamper-resistant stainless steel security bolts with special drive heads, so the benches cannot be easily unbolted with a standard wrench or socket. This is especially important for benches installed on concrete pads, trails, streetscapes, and school grounds. For residential garden benches, standard galvanized bolts are still the default simply because theft risk is lower, but anti-theft hardware is available as an upgrade on nearly every model. If you are specifying seating for any public or high-traffic area, I would always recommend choosing the anti-theft bolt package. It adds very little cost and greatly reduces the chance of a bench disappearing overnight.
