The short answer is that our urban benches are made locally, not imported as finished products. We operate our own production workshop where we cut, weld, finish, and assemble every bench. That gives us direct control over quality, dimensions, and lead times.
But I want to be completely transparent: while the bench itself is locally manufactured, some raw materials and components may come from overseas. For example, if a project calls for a specific tropical hardwood that isn’t available from local suppliers, we source it through certified importers. The same goes for certain stainless steel fasteners or specialty coatings. However, the bench you receive is not a mass-produced import. It’s built, checked, and finished by our local team.
Why does local production matter? First, quality control. We can inspect every weld, sand every edge, and adjust a design mid-run if needed. Second, customization. Because we manufacture in-house, we can modify lengths, backrest angles, armrest styles, mounting options, and colors without waiting for an overseas factory. Third, lead time and service. If a replacement part is needed later, we can make it quickly instead of waiting weeks for a container.
Local manufacturing also reduces the carbon footprint associated with shipping fully assembled benches across oceans. We’re not perfect—imported components still travel—but by keeping final production local, we cut unnecessary freight and packaging waste.
Of course, local manufacturing can cost a bit more than importing ready-made benches. We think the trade-off is worth it: more durable construction, easier customization, and a bench that’s actually built for the environment it will live in.
