We won’t claim it’s every single model, because some designs intentionally use reclaimed timber, powder-coated steel, or composite slats. But when solid wood is the main material, we try to source FSC-certified stock wherever possible.
FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council. It’s a global certification system that tracks wood from the forest to the finished product. When a bench carries the FSC label, it means the timber came from a forest managed under strict environmental, social, and economic standards. For you, that means less worry about illegal logging, deforestation, or habitat destruction.
I’ll be honest: FSC certification doesn’t automatically make a bench weatherproof. Outdoor benches still need proper care. But it does add confidence that the teak, acacia, eucalyptus, or oak in your bench was harvested responsibly. That’s a big reason we use it in many of our sustainable outdoor furniture pieces.
How do you know if a specific bench is FSC-certified? Check the product page first. We list it in the materials section whenever it applies. You can also look for the FSC logo on the packaging or the bench’s underside. If you’re unsure, message us with the model name. We’ll confirm before you buy.

- Use the “sustainable” or “FSC-certified” filter on our site.
- Look for the wood species in the specs. We usually name it.
- Check whether the bench is solid certified wood or a mix of materials.
- Ask us directly if the certification status isn’t clear.
We also believe responsibly sourced wood should last. That’s why we pair certified timber with weather-resistant joinery and recommend sealing or oiling the wood once or twice a year. A well-made bench can handle sun, rain, and frost, but the finish still needs a little help.
