Common Problems and Effective Solutions for urban benches

Are there any safety certifications your urban benches meet for public spaces?

Yes, absolutely. Our urban benches meet several safety certifications and public space seating standards because they are built specifically for high-traffic outdoor environments.

The main one is EN 16139:2013, the European standard for non-domestic seating. This certification tests the bench frame for static load, impact, fatigue, and stability, so it won’t tip, crack, or loosen under heavy daily use. For projects in the U.S., we also supply benches designed to ADA-compliant dimensions, including seat height, depth, and armrest placement, making them accessible and safer for seniors, wheelchair users, and people with limited mobility.

On the material side, we use powder-coated steel or FSC-certified hardwood that passes corrosion and weather-resistance testing. All edges are rounded or deburred to prevent cuts, and slat gaps are controlled to avoid pinch points. If a contract requires fire-rated finishes, we can provide options tested to CAL TB 117 or BS 5852.

So to answer directly: yes, the key safety certifications and standards include EN 16139, ADA compliance, and project-specific corrosion or fire testing. We can share full test reports and compliance documentation with your procurement team.
