That said, let’s be clear. Stainless steel doesn’t mean the hardware is completely rust-proof in every possible environment. It means the metal contains chromium, which forms a thin protective oxide layer. This layer helps the fasteners resist moisture, rain, and everyday humidity far better than plain steel. For most patios, gardens, and backyards, the screws and bolts will hold up well season after season.
We avoid cheap zinc-plated or painted hardware that can scratch, wear down, and expose the raw steel underneath. Instead, our outdoor bench hardware uses 304-grade stainless steel or better.
