If your city requires a specific color match—like a brand color, historical palette, or a custom RAL—factor in an extra week for sample approval before production begins.
Order size also matters. A small infill project of 5–10 units may fit into a supplier’s existing production window, while 30–100+ benches can require multiple production batches. Ask the manufacturer whether they stock the bench frames pre-welded or build to order. Pre-welded components can cut lead time significantly; fully custom fabrication adds time.
Shipping and delivery can add 3–10 business days depending on distance, freight type, and whether the site can accept a liftgate truck. For city projects, I recommend adding a buffer week for site access, inspections, or any installation scheduling. If you need benches by a grand opening or grant deadline, work backwards from that date and get the lead time confirmed in writing after color approval—not just at quote stage.
