Great question—many people ask this before ordering. The short answer is that most of our street benches are designed for DIY assembly, so you likely don't need to hire a professional. However, the level of effort depends on the bench style and where you plan to install it. Standard metal or wood-slat benches usually arrive with pre-drilled holes, brackets, and clear step-by-step instructions. If you can use basic tools like a socket wrench or Allen key, two people can typically assemble one in about 30 to 60 minutes. Heavier cast-iron, concrete, or backed benches may take longer and require extra lifting help, but they still don't normally require a tradesperson. The bigger question is anchoring. If the bench will sit on flat pavement, assembly is straightforward. If you need to bolt it into concrete, asphalt, or soil, you'll need a hammer drill, masonry bits, and appropriate anchors. That's still doable for a confident DIYer. For large commercial installations, public spaces, or projects with safety regulations, hiring a professional installer can save time and ensure everything is secure. For most residential and small commercial projects, two people and basic hand tools are enough. So unless you're anchoring many benches or dealing with tricky ground conditions, you probably won't need a professional.
