Short answer: our weather-resistant park benches are very durable, but the exact lifespan depends on the material combination you choose. We build the frame from galvanized steel with a powder-coated finish, so the metal underneath stays protected even if the coating gets scratched, and the surface won’t chalk or fade quickly under intense UV. For seating surfaces, we offer HDPE lumber or thermally modified hardwood. HDPE is the toughest all-weather option: it doesn’t absorb water, so it won’t swell, crack, or rot in snow, ice, or rain. It’s also UV-stabilized, so scorching sun won’t bleach it as fast as untreated wood. Thermal hardwood is naturally dense, but it will develop a silver patina over time unless you oil it. All hardware is stainless steel or zinc-coated to avoid rust streaks. In snowy areas, avoid metal shovels and let ice melt naturally. In hot climates, lighter colors stay cooler to the touch. Under normal outdoor exposure, expect 10–15 years with minimal maintenance, often more for HDPE.
