Great question—I hear this from parks and facilities teams all the time. The short answer is no: our standard street benches do not have hidden storage underneath for cleaning supplies. We deliberately avoid building hollow compartments into the seat base because hidden storage in street benches creates long-term maintenance problems outdoors.
A hidden compartment sounds handy, but in a public setting it becomes a moisture trap. Rain, humidity, and irrigation spray seep inside, metal parts corrode, and the cavity stays damp. That leads to rust, mold, standing water, and even pests. An unsecured compartment also gets discovered by the public, and then you’re dealing with missing supplies or damage. Keeping park bench maintenance simple is much easier when the bench base is either open for air flow or fully sealed.
If you need cleaning supplies storage close to a bench, I’d recommend a separate lockable service cabinet or a small ground-level storage box placed within 50 to 100 feet. This keeps supplies accessible to your crew but out of public reach. If you prefer an enclosed bench base for appearance, we offer vented closed panels that look tidy and don’t trap water—but they’re not designed as outdoor bench storage compartments.
For most street furniture, hidden storage is not a standard feature unless it’s custom-engineered with proper drainage, locks, and rust-resistant hardware. If you tell me more about your site—park, streetscape, plaza, or campus—I can suggest a bench and storage setup that actually holds up.
