The fastest way to get the correct replacement hardware kit is to identify the bench model or send us clear photos. Here’s what to do:
1. Check for a model number or tag. Look on the underside of the seat, the inside of the leg frames, or the end caps. It may be a stamped number, a metal plate, or a small sticker. If there is no tag, move to step two.
2. Take clear photos of the bench and the existing hardware. Include one full side view and close-up shots of the bolts, nuts, washers, or brackets you need to replace. Adding a ruler or coin in the close-up helps us match the thread size and length.
3. Send the details to our support team. Use the parts request form on our website or email us with the subject line “Replacement Hardware Kit – Older Street Bench.” Include the approximate purchase year, bench length, material, and your shipping address.
4. We will check our archive. Many older hardware kits remain available even after the bench model is discontinued. If your exact kit is in stock, we will ship it. If it has been retired, we will recommend a compatible current kit or provide a list of the individual hardware sizes you can purchase locally.
5. If no exact match exists. We can often supply a universal street bench hardware kit made of galvanized or stainless steel. These kits typically include bolts, washers, and nylon lock nuts sized to fit standard outdoor bench frames.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Common street bench hardware uses 5/16-inch or 3/8-inch diameter bolts, usually 1-1/2 to 3 inches long.
- For outdoor use, choose galvanized or stainless steel hardware to resist rust.
- If the bench is part of a public contract or still under warranty, mention it. You may qualify for a free replacement kit.
