Yes — our park benches are made from sustainably harvested wood. I’m glad you asked, because “sustainable” gets used too loosely and you deserve a clear answer.
Every wooden park bench we build starts with FSC-certified wood or PEFC-certified timber. That means the forest is managed for long-term health: limited harvesting, replanting, protection of waterways and wildlife corridors, and fair treatment of workers. We also require chain-of-custody documents on every lumber delivery, so the wood can be traced from the forest to our workshop. If a supplier can’t show that trail, we don’t buy from them.
We mostly use sustainably harvested oak, acacia, and thermally modified ash. These hardwoods are dense, naturally rot-resistant, and beautiful outdoors. Because they’re strong, our park benches last longer — and a bench that lasts 15 to 20 years is one of the most sustainable choices you can make.
Finishing matters too. We treat the wood with low-VOC, water-based oils and sealants that protect against moisture and UV damage without a heavy chemical footprint. The result is outdoor seating that keeps its color and strength season after season.
If you’re choosing eco-friendly outdoor furniture, don’t just look for the word “green.” Look for certifications. The FSC label on our product pages shows that the sustainable timber meets strict forest-management standards. You can also ask our team for the specific certification code for any bench. We’re happy to share it.
So yes — our park benches are built from sustainably harvested wood, and we hold ourselves to that standard on every batch, not just a special collection. That’s how outdoor furniture should be made.
