These plates are then bolted to the bench frame using specialized anti-theft fasteners that require unique tools to remove. For heavier concrete or stone benches, the entire base might be cast directly into the foundation, creating a permanent installation. In high-security areas, some cities use internal steel frameworks that extend deep into concrete pads, making removal nearly impossible without heavy machinery. Additional security measures often include tamper-resistant bolts that can't be removed with standard tools, and sometimes even epoxy-filled screw heads for maximum protection. The specific anchoring system chosen depends on the bench material, location crime statistics, and whether the installation needs to be permanent or occasionally relocated for maintenance or public events.
