Packaging urban benches for shipping requires careful planning and proper materials to ensure they arrive undamaged. The process begins with a thorough assessment of the bench's material and construction. For metal benches, we apply protective corner guards and wrap the entire surface with bubble wrap or foam sheeting. Wooden benches receive special attention to their finish - we use soft cloth wraps first, followed by multiple layers of stretch wrap to create a moisture barrier.
We disassemble benches whenever possible, carefully packing each component separately. All hardware is placed in labeled bags secured to the main packaging. For the main structure, we create custom cardboard protectors for edges and delicate areas before placing the bench in a fitted cardboard box.
The final step involves strategic cushioning within the shipping container. We use high-density foam inserts and air pillows to prevent movement during transit. For international shipments or particularly delicate benches, we construct custom wooden crates with internal bracing. Each packaged bench undergoes a stability test before shipping to ensure it can withstand normal transport conditions. Proper documentation including "Fragile" labels and handling instructions is clearly displayed on all sides of the package.
