Securing park benches on brick surfaces requires careful planning and the right hardware to ensure both stability and minimal damage to the paving. The most effective method involves using concrete anchors or sleeve anchors specifically designed for masonry applications. Begin by positioning the bench legs on the brick surface, marking drill points through the mounting holes. Use a hammer drill with a carbide-tipped bit matching your anchor diameter to create clean holes in the brick. Clear all dust from the holes before inserting the anchors. For maximum security, choose expansion anchors that tighten against the brick substrate when secured. The anchor length should be sufficient to penetrate through the brick and into any underlying concrete base if present. Install protective washers between the bench hardware and brick surface to prevent scratching. Tighten the bolts gradually and alternately to ensure even pressure distribution. Consider adding a silicone sealant around the anchor heads to prevent water infiltration that could damage the brick during freeze-thaw cycles.
