Thank you for your interest in our environmentally conscious seating options! We are deeply committed to sustainability, and it's at the core of how we source materials for our park benches. We believe public furniture should be durable, beautiful, and gentle on the planet.
Our primary sustainable material is Recycled Plastic Lumber (RPL). Made from post-consumer plastic waste like bottles and containers, this material diverts tons of plastic from landfills and oceans. The resulting benches are incredibly durable, resistant to rot, insects, and graffiti, and require zero painting or sealing. They come in various colors and textures, often mimicking wood grain.
For a classic natural look, we use FSC-Certified Hardwoods. The Forest Stewardship Council certification ensures the wood comes from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social, and economic benefits. These woods, like teak or oak, are naturally robust and weather beautifully over time with proper care.
We also incorporate Recycled and Reclaimed Metals. Bench frames and structural components are often made from recycled aluminum or steel, significantly reducing the energy and raw material consumption compared to virgin metal. For a unique character, we sometimes use reclaimed metal from other industries, giving it a new, long-lasting life.
Additionally, we utilize Composite Materials that blend recycled wood fibers with recycled plastics. This creates a sturdy, low-maintenance product that utilizes waste streams from both industries.
Choosing our benches means investing in community spaces that are built to last while supporting a circular economy. We’re happy to provide more details on any specific material to help you make the perfect green choice for your project.
