That's an excellent question, and one we take very seriously. The short answer is: our metal urban benches are engineered to be highly resistant to rust, but the full story is in the materials and processes we use.
We primarily use powder-coated steel or aluminum for our frames. Aluminum naturally forms a protective oxide layer, making it inherently rust-proof. For our steel benches, the key is the powder-coating process. The steel is first treated with a phosphate coating to prevent corrosion from underneath. Then, a dry powder is electrostatically applied and baked on, creating a finish that is far thicker, more uniform, and more adhesive than traditional paint. This creates a durable shield that prevents moisture and oxygen from reaching the metal.
Furthermore, we design our benches with water drainage in mind. Flat surfaces where water can pool are minimized, and legs often have capped ends or are designed to keep standing water away from direct contact with the ground.
While no outdoor product is 100% invincible, this combination of material choice, advanced coating technology, and smart design ensures our benches can withstand rain, snow, humidity, and urban pollution for many years with minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning is usually all that's needed to preserve their appearance and structural integrity season after season.
