That's an excellent question, and we're proud to share the details! The recycled content in our eco-friendly urban benches is at the very heart of our mission. We primarily use two key materials with impressive recycled percentages.
Our signature benches are made from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plastic lumber, which consists of a minimum of 95% post-consumer recycled content. This means the plastic comes from items like used milk jugs, detergent bottles, and other household containers that have been collected, cleaned, and reprocessed into durable, weather-resistant boards. This diverts significant waste from landfills and gives plastic a valuable second life.
For our composite and wood-style designs, we incorporate reclaimed wood fibers and industrial by-products. The composite material typically contains over 80% recycled content, combining post-industrial wood waste with recycled plastics. Our solid reclaimed wood options use 100% salvaged timber, sourced from old barns, warehouses, or fallen urban trees, meticulously processed for new purpose.
This commitment to high recycled content directly translates into benches that are not only sustainable but also exceptionally robust, low-maintenance, and perfect for creating greener, more circular cities. Thank you for caring about what goes into the products that shape our public spaces.
