That's an excellent question! Nobody wants to sit on a wet bench. Our park benches are specifically engineered to handle drainage and prevent water from pooling on the seating surface. The primary feature is a slatted design. The small, consistent gaps between each seat board allow rainwater to pass through immediately, so it never has a chance to accumulate. Additionally, each individual slat is subtly curved or angled—this is called a crown or slope—so even water landing directly on the wood naturally runs off to the sides and down through the gaps. We also use durable, water-resistant materials like pressure-treated wood, powder-coated aluminum, or recycled plastic lumber that won't warp or hold moisture. For solid seat designs, we incorporate a slight forward tilt and integrated drainage channels on the surface to direct water away. The result is a bench that dries quickly after rain, ensuring a comfortable, ready-to-use seat for park visitors and minimizing long-term maintenance from water damage. It’s all about combining thoughtful design with robust materials for practical, lasting outdoor furniture.
