Thank you for asking about the sustainability of our wood sourcing—it's a question at the heart of what we do. We are deeply committed to ensuring that every wooden urban bench we create contributes positively to both community spaces and the planet's health.
Our primary and non-negotiable standard is that all our virgin wood comes from forests certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). This means the timber is tracked from a responsibly managed forest, where trees are harvested at a rate that allows the forest to regenerate naturally, biodiversity is protected, and the rights of workers and local communities are respected. For some product lines, we also use high-quality reclaimed or recycled wood, giving existing materials a beautiful and long-lasting new life.
Beyond just the source, sustainability is about longevity. We craft our benches for exceptional durability using techniques like mortise-and-tenon joinery and protective, non-toxic finishes. A bench that lasts for decades reduces the need for replacement and spreads its environmental footprint over a much longer period. Our design philosophy prioritizes timeless aesthetics and robust construction to ensure they remain community assets for generations.
We believe true sustainability is transparent. We are happy to provide documentation on the chain of custody for our materials. Choosing our benches means investing in public furniture that supports ethical forestry, reduces waste, and fosters a deeper connection to nature in our cities. It’s how we build for today while protecting resources for tomorrow.
