Great question — and you’re definitely not alone in asking it. When you’re installing outdoor street benches, getting the anchoring right is crucial for safety, stability, and long-term durability. So let me break this down clearly for you.
For most of our standard street benches, ground spikes are not included with the bench itself. We usually sell the bench as a standalone unit, and the mounting or anchoring hardware is sold separately. The reason is simple: different installation surfaces require different anchoring solutions. Some customers are bolting into concrete, others are sinking posts into soil, and still others are using surface mount plates on wood decks or asphalt. One-size-fits-all just doesn’t work for ground anchors.
That said, we do offer ground spike kits as an optional add-on. If you’re installing a bench directly into grass or soft ground, a set of heavy-duty steel ground spikes is a solid choice. They drive deep into the soil and keep the bench firmly in place, even in wind or light traffic. They are packaged separately and can be ordered at the same time as your bench, or later if you decide you need them.
If you’re bolting the bench onto a concrete pad or paved surface, you’ll want to use concrete expansion anchors or wedge anchors instead — and those are also not included in the bench box. We sell those separately too, and we can recommend the right size and type based on your bench model and surface material.
So the short answer is: the bench arrives without spikes or bolts, but we’ve got you covered with the right hardware for your specific installation. Just let us know your surface type when you order, and we’ll steer you to the correct kit.
To avoid any surprises, I’d suggest checking the product page for the “Installation Accessories” tab — or simply reach out to our support team. We usually walk through your setup with you and confirm exactly what you’ll need before shipping. That way, the day your bench arrives, you’re not stuck waiting on missing parts.
