A typical kit includes four heavy-duty wedge anchors or drop-in anchors, zinc-plated or stainless steel (we lean toward 316 stainless if you’re anywhere near salt or heavy moisture), plus stainless washers and domed nuts. The anchors are usually 1/2-inch or 5/8-inch diameter, and we size the length based on your bench’s base plate thickness, so the embedment depth into the concrete is always at least 2-3/4 inches. That’s the sweet spot we’ve found through countless installations—deep enough to resist pull-out and leverage, but safe from hitting rebar if you’re careful.
If you’ve got a specific pavement type, just mention it when you reach out. We’ve seen everything from porous asphalt to precast pavers, and we can swap in chemical anchoring adhesive kits or threaded rod and epoxy for those trickier substrates. But for 90% of typical sidewalk or plaza jobs, that standard kit with a hammer drill and a torque wrench gets you a bench that won’t budge.
One thing I always tell people: don’t skip the protective washers. When a bench flexes with temperature changes or heavy use, the washer isolates the aluminum or steel base from the anchor, preventing galvanic corrosion. And yes, the bench frames come pre-drilled with mounting holes that match the anchor diameter.
