Common Problems and Effective Solutions for urban benches

What’s the cheapest outdoor bench you sell that still looks decent for a school playground?

Honestly, if you need a bench for a school playground and you don’t want something that looks like a leftover park reject, I’d point you to our 4-foot recycled plastic bench. It runs about $189, which is the lowest price we carry that still has a clean, put-together look. It won’t rot, doesn’t need painting, and the color stays decent even after kids climb all over it.

If you’re really tight on budget, the steel frame bench with pine slats is around $149. It looks fine, but you’ll need to reseal or paint the wood every couple of years, especially if it sits in full sun. For a school, I usually recommend the recycled plastic because it handles rough use better and still looks presentable by the main walkway or near the play structure.

Make sure the feet can be bolted down or use an in-ground mount kit if it’s going on grass or loose ground. That keeps the bench from tipping and helps it stay in one place during recess.

Need a specific color to match the school? We can order black, green, or brown frames at the same price, but lead time adds about a week. If you tell me your zip code, I can check shipping and give you an exact delivered price.
