Yes—most of our street benches use hidden or tamper-resistant screws. It’s one of the first things buyers ask about, and for good reason. Public seating gets targeted by vandals, scrap thieves, or people who simply like taking things apart.
We design the benches so there are no exposed standard fasteners on the top or sides. The main body panels are welded or use internal fixings that sit underneath the seat or behind the frame, where they’re not obvious. On higher-risk models, we replace standard bolts with pin-in-torx, one-way security screws, or clutch-head hardware. That doesn’t make a bench completely theft-proof, but it changes the equation: a vandal now needs a specialty bit, time, and a reason to keep going. Most move on.
We also offer anti-theft bench hardware such as ground-anchor brackets and breakaway covers. So the bench isn’t just hard to take apart—it’s also harder to unbolt from the ground. For parks, transit stops, and downtown streets, we usually recommend the tamper-proof fastener package plus through-bolting into concrete.
The trade-off is maintenance. Hidden screws are still serviceable, but your crew needs to keep the matching security bits on hand. We label each fastener type in the installation guide, and we can supply spare bit kits. If you’re specifying a vandal-resistant street bench or any commercial outdoor furniture for a rough area, choose the hidden-fixings option, ground anchoring, and a powder-coated steel or aluminum frame. That combination holds up better than any single trick.
So to answer directly: yes, our benches are built so vandals can’t easily take them apart with a pocket tool. They’re not invincible, but they’re designed to waste a vandal’s time and protect your investment.
