Great question — and honestly, it’s one of the most common things we get asked about our commercial park benches.
The short answer: FSC-certified wood is not limited to our premium models. We offer FSC-certified hardwood as a selectable option across the standard, mid-range, and premium collections. If you choose a premium bench, FSC-certified timber is the default specification, but you don’t have to jump to the top tier to get it.
Why does that matter? FSC certification means the timber is sourced from responsibly managed forests that meet strict environmental, social, and economic standards. For councils, schools, landscape architects, and parks departments, that traceability is often a non-negotiable part of the procurement checklist — and it’s a core part of how we build eco-friendly outdoor furniture.
On our standard benches, you can select FSC-certified oak, teak, or treated pine depending on the range. On premium models, we typically use FSC-certified hardwoods like teak or iroko because they offer better weather resistance and a longer lifespan in high-traffic public spaces. Either way, every bench is built to the same structural standards, and the timber is kiln-dried, sanded, and finished to resist moisture, rot, and UV damage.
If you need documentation for a tender or planning application, we can supply FSC chain-of-custody certificates with your order — just note it in the specification or ask our team before checkout.
So no, FSC-certified park benches are not a premium-only feature. Sustainable public seating should be accessible, and we try to make that choice as easy as possible.
