Let’s be upfront: we’re often asked, “Are your urban benches sourced locally, or are they shipped from overseas?” The short answer is both—but not in the way you might think. For most standard benches, we source locally. We work with a network of regional metal fabricators, timber suppliers, and powder-coating shops within a few hundred miles of our main facility. Why? It lets us control quality, shorten lead times, and reduce the carbon footprint tied to freight. Local sourcing also means we can walk the factory floor, check weld quality, and solve problems without waiting on a container crossing an ocean. That said, there are exceptions. Some specialty materials—like marine-grade stainless steel fittings or certain sustainably harvested hardwoods—aren’t always available from local suppliers at the volume or consistency we need. In those cases, we import from vetted overseas partners. We audit their facilities, require documentation on material origin, and build buffer time into our schedules so a customs delay doesn’t leave a project stranded. We also believe in being transparent with customers. If a specific bench model includes imported components, we say so on the spec sheet. If you need a fully local product for a municipal grant or a sustainability target, we can configure it that way. Just ask. So, the real answer isn’t a slogan. It’s a sourcing strategy: local first, overseas only when necessary, and always with traceability. That’s how we keep urban spaces comfortable, durable, and honest.
