It's a great question, and one we take seriously. Graffiti and vandalism are real concerns for public spaces. Here’s how our benches are built to hold up and look great for years.
First, it starts with the material. We use high-density polyethylene (HDPE) lumber or powder-coated aluminum for many of our models. These non-porous surfaces don't absorb spray paint or markers like traditional wood or concrete might. The graffiti simply sits on top.
More importantly, we treat these surfaces with a permanent, industrial-grade anti-graffiti coating. Think of it as an invisible, protective shield. When graffiti does occur, our benches are designed for easy cleanup. In most cases, a strong solvent or even a pressure washer can remove the paint without damaging the bench's underlying color or finish. No sanding, no repainting—just a quick clean.
For our metal benches, the powder coat finish is exceptionally tough and resistant to adhesion, making removal straightforward. The goal is to remove the incentive for vandals; when graffiti is easily and completely removed, they are less likely to target the same spot repeatedly.
Of course, no bench is 100% indestructible. In the rare event of deep scratches or stubborn stains, individual components like slats are often replaceable, saving you the cost of a whole new bench.
Ultimately, our design philosophy combines durability with easy maintenance. We create benches meant to be community assets, not canvases for vandalism. They are built to withstand the elements and, with the proper simple care, defy graffiti to provide lasting beauty and function in your park, campus, or streetscape.
