Yes—we do offer urban benches designed for wheelchair accessibility, and several models include a designated spot for a chair. Instead of a continuous row of seats, these benches have an open bay where a wheelchair user can park beside the bench without blocking the pedestrian path.
The accessible bay can be positioned on the left end, right end, or in the middle. It is typically marked with a contrasting color insert, a painted wheelchair symbol, or both. That section has no armrest or seat divider, so a wheelchair user can sit next to a companion, and a person transferring from a chair to the fixed seat has a clear, stable space.
A popular choice is our open-bay urban bench series. It has a heavy-gauge powder-coated steel frame, weather-resistant slats, and a level surface around the accessible area to reduce tipping risks. Some configurations include an armrest on the fixed seat side and a grab bar near the accessible bay. We can also specify a slightly wider bay if you need extra turning room.
For projects that must meet ADA or local accessibility standards, we can confirm clear ground space, surface slope, knee clearance, and connection to an accessible route. The benches can be surface-mounted on concrete or installed as freestanding units. Custom colors, engraving, and side orientation are available, so you can match your streetscape, park, or plaza.
If you share the site dimensions and the number of fixed seats you need, we can recommend a standard model or prepare a custom layout that works for your space.
