That's an excellent question! As someone who's seen countless benches shipped out, I can tell you that proper packaging is absolutely crucial. No one wants to receive a beautiful bench only to find scratches, dents, or worse. So, how do we prevent that?
First, the bench is thoroughly cleaned and inspected. Any loose parts, like bolts for assembly, are placed in a sealed plastic bag and securely attached to the bench itself. Then, the real protection begins.
For the bench frame and legs, we start with foam corner protectors or padded edge guards. These are taped on to shield every sharp corner and vulnerable edge from impacts. Next, the entire bench is carefully wrapped in several layers of stretch film. This plastic wrap holds everything tight, prevents shifting, and creates a moisture-resistant barrier.
For added safety, especially for long-distance or international shipping, the wrapped bench is often placed into a custom-sized cardboard sleeve or a full corrugated cardboard box. High-density foam inserts or inflatable air pillows are used to fill any empty space inside the box, eliminating movement.
For premium or extremely heavy cast iron or stone benches, the gold standard is a custom-built wooden crate. The bench, already wrapped, is mounted inside this sturdy wooden frame with more blocking and bracing, making it virtually damage-proof during transit.
The goal is simple: to ensure the bench arrives at your park, garden, or home in the same perfect condition it left our facility. It's a detailed process, but seeing a customer's satisfaction makes it all worthwhile.
